Trainee counsellor agreement TMAF Trainee Counsellor Placement Agreement 2026 Please read carefully before confirming your place. About this placement This is a voluntary, unpaid placement with the Thelma Matilda Alves Foundation (Charity Reg. No. 1192780). By accepting your place you agree to the following terms. I confirm that I will: Contact each client within three working days of receiving their details Provide each client with up to 15 hours of counselling Use a dedicated professional email address for all client communication — not a personal address Use a secure platform such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams for all sessions Notify TMAF immediately if a client misses two consecutive sessions Maintain clinical supervision throughout the placement Handle all client data in line with UK GDPR and my training provider's guidance Adhere to the TMAF Safeguarding Policy at all times and report any concerns without delay Not subcontract or transfer my counselling responsibilities to any other person Notify TMAF promptly of any changes to my availability or circumstances Participate in monitoring, feedback and end of placement evaluation Seek prior approval from TMAF before referencing my involvement publicly or on social media Maintain ethical, professional and competent practice at all times Work in line with current law and professional policy including safeguarding legislation and the Equality Act 2010 Inform TMAF immediately if my university PPLog approval is withdrawn or my placement status changes I understand that: This placement is voluntary and unpaid Continuation is subject to meeting all requirements above TMAF may end this placement immediately in cases of serious concern including safeguarding breaches, ethical violations or reputational risk to the charity Any disputes will be resolved informally and in good faith All references to my involvement in TMAF reports and evaluations will be non-identifiable unless I have given explicit consent TMAF counselling services are only available to residents of the United Kingdom Do you confirm you have read and agree to the TMAF Trainee Counsellor Placement Agreement above?
