Treasurer

Trustee/Governor, Remote  

The overall role of a Treasurer is to maintain an overview of the organisation’s affairs, ensure its financial viability and ensure that proper financial records and procedures are maintained.  In addition to the general responsibilities of a trustee, the duties of the treasurer include the following:

  • Overseeing, approving, and presenting budgets, accounts, and financial statements

  • Ensuring that the charity has an appropriate reserves policy

  • Ensuring that the accounts are prepared and disclosed in the form required by funders and the relevant statutory bodies, for example, the Charity Commission and/or the Registrar of Companies

Mental Health Session Facilitators

Ongoing volunteer role, Remote 

This role is voluntary and is designed to be flexible and, fit around your other commitments. We are looking for facilitators who are currently working/studying in the mental health and wellbeing sector with a specific interest in black women's mental health and other issues pertaining to them.

  • Design and co-create sessions and seminars around black women's mental health and healing.

  • Facilitate and hold our group sessions either online or in person.

  • Safeguarding the good name and values of the organisation

  • Engage with all the black women who attend our sessions ensuring that the purpose is highlighted and fulfilled. 

  • Consult on social media campaigns and resources for black women about their mental health.

  • Other assigned duties.

Fundraising Officer

Ongoing volunteer role, Remote

The Fundraising Officer will work closely with the chief executive officer to implement a fundraising programme for the organisation's current work to deliver its aims, objectives, and projects.

  • Developing and maintaining project income through institutional donors, trusts and foundations.

  • Building unrestricted income by developing current income streams from individuals, corporate and major donors

  • Research and keep track of funding opportunities, providing timely information to support the development of new bids

  • Co-ordinate and write bid applications on behalf of TMAF

  • Build a positive relationship between TMAF and its financial supporters to maintain and grow their support

  • Develop TMAF’s ability to raise unrestricted funds from major donors, corporate, and individuals
